KET/PET and Business English Certificates

CfBT's Learning Centre provides training for the following University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate Exams. It should be noted that these examinations are not always available and therefore it is highly recommended that you discuss your needs with our staff either over the phone, in person or via email tlc@cfbt.org

Key English Test

An elementary level examination for learners of English. It is the first level of the Cambridge Main Suite examinations that assess general English ability from beginners to advanced level. When this examination is run an accompanying course will also take place.

Preliminary English Test

The PET is a lower intermediate examination for learners of English. PET is the second level of the Cambridge Main Suite Examinations. At this level a student will be expected to have developed the skills to cope in largely predictable social and work environments.

First Certificate in English

This examination is for people who are at an upper intermediate to advanced level of English, focussing on accuracy and general competence in the four language areas; speaking, listening, reading and writing.
